Hapvida president anticipates opening 16 new hospitals by the end of 2021

 Often, the inspiration to pursue a specific profession comes from examples within the family itself. So it had been with Jorge Pinheiro, president of the Hapvida System .


“My first experience within the health field was with my father once I was a toddler. He founded alittle clinic called Clínica Antônio Prudente and that i spent the afternoons helping with everything that was necessary ”, remembers Jorge from his father Candido Pinheiro.


Being during this health environment from an early age influenced Jorge to follow the paths of drugs. He graduated from the Federal University of Ceará and officially began his professional career there.


In 1993, his father created the operator Hapvida, which gradually expanded with the creation of branches and hospitals in other cities. it had been in 2000 that Jorge was invited to the mission to assume the presidency of the Hapvida System . Since then, the operator has reached expressive levels, opening new branches and hospitals within the five regions of the country.


“Currently, we've 45 own hospitals spread across Brazil and, by the top of 2021, that number should increase to 60. i'm very proud to ascertain that 96% of our clients' hospitalizations are offered by our own hospitals”, he points out.
